About Wildside Highland Lodges
For 12 months of the year Wildside Highland Lodges is a very special oasis of calm set amongst the stunning, rugged scenery of Loch Ness.
With only 16 luxury lodges throughout its 7 acres of unspoilt nature our lodges are either situated along the banks of the River Fechlin or have uninterrupted views of the mighty Ben Sguradh and this means we are the perfect place to relax, unwind and forget about the real world for a few days…
Every lodge has its own private terrace or decking, log burner and secluded hot tub that is ready for you as soon as you arrive.
We are ideally located to take advantage of everything the Highlands of Scotland has to offer:
- We are within an easy drive of all the major tourist destinations
- For those who prefer the outdoors we are close to the major ski centres, have some of Scotland’s best walking and cycling right on our doorstep and are surrounded by major sporting estates. Not to forget we have trout fishing within the park on the River Fechlin.
Or alternatively for those of a more relaxed persuasion, after a dip in your private hot tub you can luxuriate in front of your own log burner or take a very short walk to a beautiful country pub that serves great food and a dram by a roaring fire.
We are a haven for wildlife so you can expect to see deer roaming as dusk approaches, pheasants strut freely round the park, herons nest in the river banks, squirrels populate our trees, trout swim in the river and all types of raptors fly overhead.
We are open 12 months of the year and each season brings new delights to savour and explore.
Spring: there is still snow on surrounding mountains but the grounds are awash with Daffodils and delicate Primroses; the Falls of Foyers roar through the glen; life stirs everywhere and The Highlands invite you to visit.
Summer: the grounds are rendered purple with rare alpine fairy foxgloves; summer blooms cover the area; families picnic on the shores of Loch Ness and hope to spot the monster; boats pass through the canal locks at Fort Augustus to explore the famous loch or head towards Fort William; the bagpipes skirl as the highland games take place.
Autumn: rich autumnal colours explode and the light become an artists dream; red deer stags roar majestically on the hills; squirrels collect nuts.
Winter: dazzling white mountains in winter sun beckon climbers and skiers; roaring fires welcome people home from a bracing day; Scottish hospitality excels for Christmas and Hogmanay.
